Reading HR 3200 ... Anesthesia Providers beware of HR 3200 Section 1121 pg 241 lines 6-8... HR 3200 Section 1121 pg 241 lines 6-8 - This section makes it clear that there will be no designation between assignment of physicians to 'service categories' with regards to their specialties... anesthesiologists, family practice, emergency medicine, etc and this section calls for a single conversion factor across all 'service categories.' The legal interpretation from Liberty Counsel of Washington DC is that all MDs and other providers should be prepared to be paid the same regardless of their specialty. Although this language specifically addresses, physicians, throughout the bill there is reference to physicians or other allied providers as licensed, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners, etc. Advanced Practice Nurses should be prepared to be included in the 'service category' with all other nurses regardless of specialty as outlined in HR 3200 Section 1121 page 241 lines 6-8. This would mean that Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists would be placed into these 'service categories' without regard to specialty. Section 1121 pg 241 lines 6-8 "...service categories established under this paragraph shall apply without regard to the specialty of the physician furnishing the service" |
