July 2009BCS, Inc.

The US House of Representatives has proposed HR 3200 America's Health Choices Act - AHC - The contents of this bill could be no further from the interpretation of its title. Starting with the disturbing fact that the bill exceeds 1000 pages and many members of the House have not even read it, yet are set to vote on it today. This bill is filled with significant tax increases for both American individuals as well as American business. The bill contains restrictions in an individual American's healthcare choices, choices which determine what care you receive, what providers are allowed to provide services, coupled with vague policy costs and reimbursement methodologies. Furthermore there is no reference to any concept of payment methodologies, fee schedules, reimbursement arrangements, etc that from a provider standpoint we must understand. Furthermore the bill brings into our industry significantly more government involvement and bureaucracy, something we already have far too much of which impedes our ability to provide services at the lowest costs as administrative and policy interpretation costs continue to rise. The CBO- Congressional Budget Office-Congress' own non-partisan number crunchers, admit the America's Health Choices Act will INCREASE costs not lower them. This bill will further escalate the soaring budget deficits with an estimated initial cost of over 1 Trillion -that's with a T- The only way to attempt to offset this cost is a raise in tax revenue. A tax increase for all. Several other independent organizations have evaluated the proposal and come to the same conclusions. This bill is wrong for America, wrong for the citizens of America, and wrong for the healthcare industry of America. Contact your Congressional Representative's office http://www.house.gov/house/MemberWWW_by_State.shtml to voice your opinion and urge them to vote no, far more vigorous debate needs to take place with the American people than has been allowed thus far.

Congress must hear from you. It is time to act
